Hi Michele,

Great question!

You can do it either way depending if you have enough profit figured in for "return shipping".

If you know what your return ratio is - then you can figure that into your "retail price" by adding that percent (%) in.

If you don't, then it's acceptable to have the customer cover the return shipping charges. Most folks are okay with that :-)

I hope that helps...

Have a super great day selling on eBay!

Blessings,
Duane

Hi Duane,

This is some great stuff and thank you very much for taking time out of your day to make these videos, I for one, really appreciate it.

I do have a question on guarantees. I have some very specific products for the Christmas market, knowing that people will be purchasing for presents, the item won't be opened until the 25th of December, I'm offering a 60 or 90 day money back guarantee.

I'm also giving free FedEx shipping. My vigorous quality control is in place and the cost of shipping is going to be about $12 per package.

My question is, if someone does have to make a return, do I also offer to reimburse them for return shipping or is it acceptable to have them pay it?

thanks in advance.

The strangest thing has been happening since I started watching your videos, Duane. I am starting to see just how this Ebay thing is suppose to work.

Bring on that packaging video!

You are a god send,

Hi Kim,

Great Question.....

Once someone leaves us feedback, we do reply.

I do this for two reasons:

1) To let them know I "appreciate" them

2) To continue building a "relationship" with them.

Make the "reply" very personal - not generic. Do not use it to "promote" yourself, your products or your business. Many sellers do that "thinking" that other buyers will see their reply and rush to buy their products.

That's hogwash and it defeats the whole purpose of "building a relationship".

Think about it this way.....

If you bought something from me and left me a wonderful feedback and then I replied to your feedback saying <strong>"Another satisfied customer bragging on our products and great customer service" </strong>- would that "speak" to you and continue building our relationship?

Would that "convey" how much I appreciate you?

How would it make you feel?

Remember, people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care..... ABOUT THEM!

I hope this helps :-)

Blessings,
Duane

Very informative. I could see why so many businesses go under. Customer service out there is awful. I'd be interested in your comments about "feedback" on Ebay. I always leave it first as a seller. The customer will then also reply with a positive feedback for me. Should it stop there or should I respond to the positive feedback? In other words, is there any way to get better use as a seller out of the feedback system? Thanks
